Mohs Surgery
Welcome to Our Mohs Surgery Department
We specialize in providing highly precise and effective treatment for skin cancer. Mohs surgery, named after Dr. Frederic Mohs, is a microscopically controlled procedure that ensures the complete removal of cancerous cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. Our skilled team of dermatologists and surgeons are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.
What is Mohs Surgery?
Mohs surgery is a specialized technique primarily used for the treatment of
skin cancer, particularly basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
It is renowned for its high success rates and ability to spare healthy
tissue, making it the gold standard for treating skin cancers in delicate or
cosmetically sensitive areas, such as the face, ears, and hands.

The Mohs Surgery Process
Tumor Removal
01
During the procedure, the surgeon progressively removes layers of the cancerous tissue one at a time, immediately examining each layer under a microscope.
Mapping and Analysis
02
Once a layer of tissue is removed, it is carefully mapped and color-coded for accurate analysis. The surgeon evaluates the margins to determine if any cancer cells are still present.
Tissue Examination
03
Each layer is examined under a microscope by the surgeon, who looks for cancer cells along the edges and base.
Wound Closure
04
Once the cancer is entirely excised, the wound may be repaired using various techniques, such as sutures, grafts, or reconstructive procedures.
